The forthcoming operating system for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, is
highly integrated with Apple’s new iCloud service. In iOS 5, you can now
back up the majority of your device’s content to the cloud
automatically. However, this article will walk you through the process
of manually backing up your iPhone to iCloud at any time.
1 - Tap the Settings app from your device’s home screen.
2 - Tap “iCloud” from within the settings app to access the main iCloud settings screen.
You may be prompted to log in to iCloud or create a new account, if you haven’t already.
3 - Swipe up to scroll down the page and tap “Storage & Backup”.
4 - Tap “Back Up Now”
Your device will automatically begin backing up the content you have set to “ON” on the main iCloud settings screen.
Note: Your first back up may take a while. You can tap “Cancel Backup” at any time to stop the back up.

- You can create custom gestures from within the Accessibility section of the Settings app.
- iOS 5 provides an all new message app called iMessage that allows you to access text messaging services as well free messaging over WiFi and 3G to any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch running iOS 5.
Warnings
- iOS 5 is only compatible with iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPod touch 3rd and 4th generation.
